Sal & Phylis Pesta  - 2017 / 2018 Texas District Couple of the Year

We can thank Uncle Sam for our meeting 36 years ago at Ft. Polk, LA.  We married 2 years later in Austin, Tx.  Sal has been riding motorcycles for more than 50 years and once he taught me to ride his Honda 750, we set about riding all 50 US States (including Alaska & Hawaii). Over these many years, included in our motocycle family have been 4 trikes, a sidecar and motorcycles too numerous to count.  We are blessed with 5 children, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  We travel a great deal to visit them – as they are scattered from texas to Pennsylvania, Florida, New Jersey and Maryland.

Sal was born in New Jersey, while Phylis spent her first 18 months in Illinois. We have lived overseas in 4 different countries and 10 different US States. Sal finally decided it was time to retire after 27 years in the US Army, 2 years with Metropolitan insurance and 16 years of teaching high school. Phylis retired at the same time after working as wife, mother, government clerk and as professional clothing buyer. Between Thanksfiving Day & Christmas Day, we can be found in and around San Antonio, representing GWRRA & TX Chapter U at various hospitals, schools, parties and functions as Santa & Mrs. Claus – riding the red Goldwing trike – towing the red trailer full of toys and goodies!!

We joined GWRRA in 2006 just before attending WingDing 28 in Nashville, TN. Texas Chapter U has always been our immediate home and family within GWRRA.
